I can hardly believe that is already well into the middle of August! I'm not really sure where all the time has gone, but September is almost here and that means pumpkin spice, college football and indoor stitching. For me, it means I've been lucky enough to finish a couple of projects that I thought I'd show off.
Fresh off the stand last night is my "Party Shoe" from Strictly Christmas. This piece was started as a class during my very first Destination Dallas way back in 2017. Lots of French knots and ribbon work definitely made me reach outside of my comfort zone. If you look close there is even some buttonhole on the shoe buckle. Now I just have to decide how it will be finished!
Our exclusive "Chicago Foods" round also saw some action and our technical writer will have a stitch guide ready the first week of September. If you look close you'll see lots of French knots and more detached butthole (again). I'm not saying there's a theme, but sometimes you just need to conquer your fears and use the "damn" stitch cuz it looks like the "curst of a deep dish pizza" .
I also got a piece back from one of our finishers. I have so many belts in my stash and needed to come up with a new use. I absolutely love the way the beaded berries turned out.
My latest project is yet to be determined. One of my favorite things it to shop my stash which will be happening now that I have finished my "Party Shoe". Perhaps, the glass coffin from Cheryl and Annie
or "That's Annoying" from SG Designs for KCN.
I do love a good sign, so either way its a win for me!
Our trunk show this month is Labors of Love. They are best known for their clip on bird canvases and Halloween, but there are so many more designs to pick from.
September also brings in a "Painters Thread" trunk show. We recently introduced the size 8 metallic braid and it is outstanding. I love how each type of thread takes the dye differently. We will be receiving the Braided Cotton, Braided Rayon, Crewel Wool, Silk Ribbon - 4mm and 7mm and many more.
A new exclusive series has started to make its way to the shop. The first in the group of featured "Chicago Landmarks" is the Shedd Aquarium and it is available on our website.
New to the store from Lynn Deininger is our "Sweet Home Chicago". This great reminder of home is available as an ornament on 18 mesh or a square pillow in 13 or 18 mesh. Also available on the website, but if you would like a custom size just give us a call. 630-946-6216
We also have lots of new arrivals so make sure you check out our website. Canvases are still being added daily! (and there is more to come next week too!)
Lastly, don't forget about our "Super Sale"! Any canvases listed in the Sale Section of the website are an extra 50% off the previous price! The sale is running until 11:45pm On August 31st and there are so many great designs to choose from. With our cash and carry Fall Market in November, I need to make sure there is lots of room for new pieces.
I hope you all have time for lots of stitching! Make sure you stop in whenever you get a chance. The ladies and I love seeing everyone's progress on their pieces or just catching up. Until next time, Deb
